VYV was contacted in May of 2012 for completely new type of project: to project on a full-sized car that would be rotated in real-time by a visitor using an iPad interface.

While projecting on cars is not new, converging projectors on a moving 3D surface was uncharted territory for VYV. Photon was more than up for the job with its unique and innovative approach to automatic blending. Although it was easy to direct multiple projectors on arbitrary surfaces, the real challenge was to make it work in real-time.

VYV started pre-production on a small-scale 3D-printed model, moved to production to a studio, and then finally debuted at the main event located in a tent.

The project was a huge success and gave visitors a seamless, surreal impression of applying live, moving images on a car in motion.
